How to fit an ac3 encoded avi onto an ipod clic? (video dimensions)?

my videos are like i said ac3 encoded avi format. i already know how to convert them but if i try to put them on my ipod them dimensions arent divisible by 16 so it wont fit all on the ipod screen. it cuts off the movie like its zoomed in way too far. any help or suggestions?
